You may have multiple companies within Sage BusinessWorks.
Maintain Users
Maintain all user information including name, password and security settings.

Company Close
Perform a company-wide close of several or all modules rather than closing each module separately. You will be prompted to back up all data prior to proceeding.
Backup
A Backup Wizard walks you through a simple process of backing up your Sage BusinessWorks data and program files.
Integration With Other Sage BusinessWorks Modules
The System module is a required module for the operation of Sage BusinessWorks and integrates with every other module.

Maintain all forms from every module conveniently from the System Maintain Forms option.

Audit Log
Maintain 100 of the most recent changes made to key files, such as General Ledger Accounts file, or Accounts Receivable Customer file. Records user id, date, time, and data item changed.

Extensive Help System
Sage BusinessWorks offers a comprehensive, searchable help database covering every function in every module. Beyond simple explanation of the function, the help database offers reasons why you might select one option over another, and where to go for further assistance. You may annotate any topic with notes of your own for further explanation. There are systematic instructions for many procedures, and a useful troubleshooting guide here as well. The Help database may be launched at any time, with context sensitive help available from virtually every screen.
Electronic Information
A large library of electronic documents covering subjects such as Getting Started, and Upgrade Guide are quickly accessible from the Launcher.
Rich Feature Set
Email Forms Save postage and printing costs and speed communications by emailing forms to customers and to vendors. Remote Access Via Terminal Services Access and post information from remote locations with client server edition of Sage BusinessWorks.
Intuitive Launcher
The Launcher is divided up into several areas offering: the launcher menus, the module menus, the Resource Bar, the Status Bar, and the Viewer and Address Bar. You may navigate in a number of ways, including selecting the task from the menu, from your list of shortcuts, from the status bar, or from the task menu. You may add outside tasks such as Word or Excel to the Launcher, maximizing productivity and usability.
Auto Fill City And State
Sage BusinessWorks can automatically fill in a new customer’s, vendor’s, or employee’s city and state based on the zip code you enter.
Notepad
Enter and maintain free form text about a customer, vendor, employee, part, job, or name. The notes are accessible throughout Sage BusinessWorks and the text may be included on most listings. The date, time, and user id may be automatically inserted prior to any addition.
Prior Month Postings
Control the ability to post to prior periods through system setup. Select from: no, yes, or only in the current fiscal year.
Informational Messages
Sage BusinessWorks can notify you automatically to several conditions, such as a warning about posting to a prior month, tax deposits due in payroll, or insufficient on hand quantities in inventory. You may activate these warnings for all employees, or individually select the users to receive such warnings.
International Phone Number Format
If you do business globally, select the international phone format and Sage BusinessWorks wont attempt to format the number as a U.S. number with area code plus number.
Tips
Fire up a Tip Box upon entry into Sage BusinessWorks, or anytime during your session. Read short, relevant, and useful tips covering every installed module.
Checklists
A Checklists menu displays handy "to do" lists to walk you through each step in a process, such as initial setup and month or year-end closes. The option you need can be launched directly from a checklist.
Shortcuts
Shortcuts are a fast and efficient way of moving between frequently used tasks. Because you can access Shortcuts from anywhere in Sage BusinessWorks, you can quickly change tasks without navigating through the Launcher’s menu system. Maintain a unique shortcut list for each user.
Startups
Tasks included on your Startups Menu are automatically launched every time you log in to Sage BusinessWorks. Since they are specific to your user ID, each person can create and maintain their own list of Startups.
Function Hot Keys
Link function keys to executable programs such as the Windows Calculator, or Notepad. Sage Information Center Access the latest Sage news and announcements, tips and tricks, product alerts, and more with the Sage Information Center accessible from the Main Resource Bar.
Reports
Sage BusinessWorks uses your data to produce a wide range of reports including graphical reports, which present you with three-dimensional representations of your sales history and much more.

The Audit Report highlights such changes as when a customer was added and the user who renamed a part number.
System Status Report



This on-screen report includes information about your Sage BusinessWorks installation, and your operating system, useful when making support inquiries.
Network Status Report



This reports prints data about any network user extensions you have installed to enable multiple users to access Sage BusinessWorks simultaneously.
Report Groups
Place reports into groups so that you can quickly and easily print multiple reports at one time. Report groups are particularly useful for creating a series of reports with specific setups that you print on a regular basis, such as month-end close reports.
Custom Reports
You can create customized reports to suit your unique business needs.
Targeted Mail Merge
Easily create mailing lists of your customers, vendors, and employees, merge Sage BusinessWorks information into a Microsoft Word document, and then elect to print the document or e-mail it to the mailing list.
